The idea came from freedom. Freedom is not a word. Not a single person needs to be free or freedom just a slogan. This design reflects all the people of Egypt screaming with all their strength saying, “We want freedom! We want stability and democracy without manipulation of our opinions based on the opinions of one another.” This is the true meaning of freedom.

The Egyptian is very unique in its style and methods of expressing its surroundings. Description of the painting: the Egyptian hand print was taken from the Egyptian folklore and represented the Egyptian flag by the colours taking over each other. The red colour represents the Egyptian blood that was shed over the decades; the white colour represents peace, while the black colour represents injustice and tyranny.

The painting represents Egypt where the pyramids are – one of its most famous symbols – as well as the Nile. I put a transparent layer on the water of the Nile to show the Egyptian flag next to the Sphinx and Umm Kulthum, who is an Egyptian symbol too. And at the end there is Tahrir square which became another symbol of Egypt and its January revolution.
